CURATOR research project

Work Package 1: EEG Biomarker Protocol

WP1 defines a reproducible protocol for extracting and interpreting EEG biomarkers in personalized neurofeedback.

EEG measures electrical brain activity using electrodes placed on the scalp.

Objective

Establish and validate a standardised biomarker framework (JSON-based, BIDS-compliant) that encodes EEG features and generates empirical evidence of their predictive value for neurofeedback outcomes.

Duration: M1-M8 (February-September 2026) | Effort: 11.7 person-months

Tasks

T1.1: Biomarker Definition and Evaluation

Define and evaluate a set of clinically and computationally relevant EEG biomarkers in consultation with clinicians and researchers, using public datasets to test predictive associations with treatment outcomes.

T1.2: Schema Development

Develop a JSON-based schema to encode biomarker definitions, metadata, and contextual information for interoperability across systems, ensuring compatibility with BIDS and future extension to multimodal data.
